IdentifyPlantsAndTrees
Editorial Policy
How IdentifyPlantsAndTrees creates and updates plant and tree identification guides.
How we create guides
- Trait-first: we prioritize observable traits (leaf arrangement, margins, bark pattern) over “vibes”.
- Shortlists: we encourage users to compare 2–3 candidates, not accept the top result.
- Safety: we avoid “edible confirmation” language and consistently warn about toxic look‑alikes.
Updates
We review guides periodically and update when better workflows or clearer explanations are found. Each guide shows an “Updated” date near the top.
Medical and safety disclaimer
We provide general educational information only. We do not provide medical advice. If you suspect poisoning or exposure, contact local poison control, a veterinarian (for pets), or emergency services.
